Performance

The AMZchef slow masticating juicer ZM1902B excels in juice extraction, producing a high yield while preserving essential vitamins and enzymes. The slow masticating process ensures minimal oxidation, resulting in fresher-tasting juice that can be stored longer without rapid degradation.

In my initial testing it performed well with leafy greens, (peeled) citrus fruits, and hard vegetables like carrots and beets. It extracts juices very well for the most part with dry leftover pulp.

Softer ingredients like slightly older apples and nopal cactus leaves did not have the best results with thick applesauce like juice or and the filter clogging up quickly with the plant matter. Additionally, fibrous produce like long celery stems seem to plug up the pulp opening.

It worked fine at making celery juice when the celery is cut up smaller.

The juicer performs well across a range of fruits and veggies:

  • Oranges: Makes smooth, pulp-free orange juice with excellent flavor if you peel the fruit first.
  • Apples: Works well even if with whole apples (if using fresh, firm apples) to make sweet and refreshing apple juice. I had some softer apples and the result was closer to applesauce than juice.
  • Carrots & Ginger: Handles hard veggies well but the turning blade (and possibly auger) start making a very loud squeaky noise when the machine is under strain after about 30 seconds of juicing harder produce.
  • Green Juice (celery, nopal, orange, cucumber): I made Mexican green juice recipe with celery, nopal, orange, and cucumber. It is great for greens when mixed with fruit or veggies with a high water content.
  • Frozen Fruit: One of my favorite discoveries is the possibility of the juicer turning frozen fruit chunks into healthy ice cream much easier than in a blender of food processor. The churned up fruit ice cream extrudes from the pulp output opening.

Ease of Use and Cleaning

This juicer is user-friendly, thanks to its wide feed chute, which significantly cuts down on prep time. Assembly and disassembly are straightforward and the cleaning process is a breeze! Mostly you can just rinse the parts under running water.

The included cleaning brush helps remove pulp that may build up in the strainers. There are many dishwasher-safe parts, but hand washing keeps them lasting longer. However, some users may find it slightly tedious to clean the fine-mesh filter after multiple uses.

Noise Level and Durability

The motor runs at a low noise level of under 60 dB, making it a great choice for early-morning or late-night juicing without disturbing the rest of your family or household members. However, even if the motor is quiet, juicing hard produce (especially if not cut up into small pieces) often makes a loud mechanical squeaking sound that can be a nuisance.

Durability-wise, the juicer’s components feel sturdy, with BPA-free plastic and stainless steel elements contributing to its longevity. Unfortunately, I dropped my juice container after its second use. Although a small visual crack appeared it still functions perfectly without any leaking.

Price and Value for Money

The AMZchef 1902B is priced competitively, making it a good option for budget-conscious buyers who still want a high-quality cold press juicer.

Comparison to other slow juicers

Compared to higher-end models like the Omega NC900HDC or Hurom H-AA, the AMZchef ZM1902B offers a similar cold press experience at a fraction of the cost. However, premium models tend to have sturdier materials, longer warranties, and more efficient juice extraction. When compared to other budget-friendly options, such as the Aicok slow masticating juicer, the AMZchef model stands out for its larger feed chute and higher juice yield.
